The Domaine des Echardières is located on the left bank of the river Cher, not far from Château de Chenonceau. It stretches out across 16 hectares, all within the zone of the Touraine appellation. Gamay, cabernet franc, côt... red grape varieties make up half of the planted area. 8 hectares are planted with sauvignon white. The orientation of the slopes, and the diverse combination of soils and sub-soils, predominantly chalky clay, giving our products a delicate aromatic nature common with the wines of Chenonceau.
Since 2011, the Domaine des Echardières products, from its best lands, the new appellation red : La Long Bec Rouge, Touraine Chenonceaux. More recently, during summer 2014, La Long Bec Blanc Touraine Chenonceaux was succesfully launched.
Conscious of environmental protection, the estate has its own code of practice, taking a carefully reasoned approach to wine production. More recently, the Domaine des Echardières has been labeled HVE, which is the highest level of environmental certification for vineyards. HVE covers four key areas: biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategy , management of fertiliser use and management.
Our wines are grown and vinified exclusively on the property, with respect for tradition. We marry traditional vinification methods with modern technology (thermo-regulation, stainless steel vats) to bring out the best of our terrain.
